Hello to all our lovely clients 🌞🌞🌞
Please see below the guidance we have to follow to keep us and you safe . Remember we are a close contact business so the procedures are stricter for businesses like us! These are guidelines which we have NO choice but to follow …. and there is a lot!! but please when you get a minute take the time to read.
Also remember that we hope as much as you that these will change over time!

OUR SALON

– We have undertaken a thorough review and risk assessment of our salon and services

– We have rearranged the salon space to adhere to social distancing the best we can

– We will have Perspex screens between each styling station and reception

– Every surface will be cleaned regularly with sanitiser

– ALL equipment will be disinfected before and after every service

– Disposable gowns and towels will be used at all time

– We will ensure adequate ventilation through the salon with doors and windows open where possible

– We have extended opening hours and the team will be working split shifts so only 3 stylists working at one time

– The whole team will wear full PPE

– In salon consultations will be done at the styling station via the mirror to minimise face to face interaction. Whilst the stylist works on your hair there will be minimal talking ( this is one we hope will change soon ! )

– All our team members are trained to care for our customers in a safe and protective major

– There will be a small increase in colour costs if your stylist has to use more colour then you have previously required due to extra re- growth , but we will not be charging for PPE

– Appointments only , no walk ins

-Children’s cuts (under 12) will not be available through July

THINGS WE NEED YOU TO FOLLOW

– All clients must wear a face covering (we have available but would rather you bring your own to bring down the risk of us disposing of them ) clients will not be able to enter unless they have a mask

– Please arrive on time for your appointment and wait outside the salon for us to bring you in

– Hand Sanitiser will be available at entrance and must be used and temperature taken

– You must come alone for your appointment we cannot accommodate children or guests

– Magazines and refreshments are not available so please bring a bottle of water and reading material if you require

– We are unable to offer blow drys for this first appointment but we hope this will change soon ( please speak to your stylist regarding this )

– We are unable to hang coats and bags up so please bring minimal belongings as these have to stay with you at all times

– We are not being rude not being our usual chatty selfs but we have to keep talking minimal , we would love nothing more to give you a hug and a good chat but as well as the safety aspect we have to run on time as best we can too

And Breath!!! … We think this covers everything. We are confident the salon with run safely and smoothly and in time things will ease too.

We have an overwhelming list of clients to get through , but we will !!! Please don’t be disappointed if your appointment is in a few weeks time , remember we can only fit a certain number of clients in per day and we only have one pair of hands , as most of you are aware we are juggling all of this whilst still having our young children off school … but with the extended hours, team work your understanding and support we will do it 💪🏻

Your Stylist will be calling so any questions you have they will be happy to answer.

P.s – is it to early for a gin ?! 💞💞

So here up first is Lucy,s home hair tutorial, she has created a few simple hair ups for all you ladies to practice in your free time. Lucy is one of our salon owners and has been in the hairdressing now for over 20 years, she began her journey at Toni and Guy working her way up to running our successful salon with her partner Michelle. Let us know how you get on ❤️

I wanted to give you a few tips on how to conceal you roots and prolong your colour whilst at home. Highlighted hair is a difficult one however a good silver shampoo really helps brighten a yellow blonde up and makes it nice and ashy by neutralising warm tones. The shampoo can be applied to dry hair for a stronger affect and left on between 5 and 20 minutes depending on your desired result.

One way to conceal your regrowth at home is to apply a zigzag parting into the hair. This not only helps to conceal a definite regrowth but can also add volume to your hair.

Another method people use is the concealing root spray. We sell them in the salon and I really like using the REF root concealer on my clients between colour services. They are easy to use and I find the REF one diffuses onto the hair evenly and doesn’t feel heavy at all. L’Oreal do one called magic retouch this comes in a wide range of shades however the nozzle on that one can be harder to control so avoid using near furniture or walls.

WhatsApp Image 2020-04-30 at 15.11.54 (1)Another product available to you is the root concealer powder sets. They come in varying shades and usually come with an applicator brush. There are a few videos online showing the application process but it is quite straight forward anyway. You simply apply the powder to the area where the regrowth is. Some people with darker tones could even use an old eyeshadow it has the same affect.

WhatsApp Image 2020-04-30 at 15.04.38The final product I’d like to advise you on is the colour enhancing shampoo by REF. All the REF shampoos are paraben and sulphate free meaning they leave an incredible shine on the hair without leaving a residue behind. The shampoo and conditioner used together really help to illuminate your hair colour whether you’re blonde or dark haired and every shade in between. The products can be bought online and delivered to your door and aren’t too expensive.

Hope this has helped you all a little bit. Stay safe and stay home lots of love from Scott xxx

And followed by that we have our weekly blog from one on of our team members. Today we have Tiffany giving you her story on what she has been up to. Tiffany has been with the Shoreham Lounge since day one, where she came from her mothers salon. So hairdressing has always been in her blood ❤️

Thank you for sharing your story with us Tiffany, we love getting a key hole view into everyones life during these times. Lovely to see you xxx

And next up is part two in Andrina’s mini series on how to style your hair at home. Today she is teaching you how to straighten your hair like a pro. We hope this helps you maintain your own styling .

So thank you again for being part of our online community, we hope you enjoyed todays blog. We cant wait to get back in the salon and see you all again, but till then we will keep reaching out online. We wish you all the best and hope you are all well and healthy.

Lots of Love from your Shoreham Hair Lounge team.

Hello all you lovely’s.

Happy Wednesday and lots of love, here is our weekly blog, keeping you up to date on what we have been up to. It has been a busy and exciting week for us at the Shoreham Hair Lounge.

We have had another anniversary, another year and very different to last year. Here is Michelle sharing her story with you and the history of our salon, she is also announcing last weeks winner of our review competition. So lovely to see her, thank you for sharing Michelle ❤️

Next up , we have some tips from our amazing certified Great Lengths hair extension specialist Danielle on how to manage your extensions during the lockdown, so read and take note ladies. Followed by video tutorial from Andrina on how to blow dry your hair smooth at home .

Danielle’s Great Lengths extension tips.

This is for all my Great Lengths Extension clients. Some of you may be due to have your extensions out so I have put together some dos and don’t s to help you look after and maintain your hair while you can’t get to the salon. Firstly although we recommend you don’t leave your extensions in longer than six months this won’t damage your natural hair it will just become harder to style and may need a little more t.l.c.

unnamed

DO’S

-Do brush regularly, using a soft bristle brush or tangle teaser, take small sections of hair row by row and brush from the scalp over the extensions to the mid lengths, being careful to tease any tangles out from the bottom lengths first.

-Do use regular conditioning treatments on the mid lengths and ends.Do loosely plait/braid your hair to help not getting tangled at night this can give your hair a break from heated tools and also gives beautiful heat free waves in the morning.

-Do separate your bonds from the root daily with your fingers this prevents matting.

DONT’S

-Don’t use combs on the roots when brushing these can get caught and pull on the bonds. Don’t tie your extensions up too tight, this can cause tension on your roots.

-Don’t be alarmed if you shed the odd bond this a natural process and will happen more often the longer they are in.

-Don’t use heated tools (straightening irons and tongs etc) near the bonds this will melt the bonds and cause damage.

-Most importantly do not attempt to remove your hair extensions yourself this will cause more damage than good.
Please wait for us.

I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you for your new set of gorgeous Great lengths Extensions as soon as we can.
Stay safe,
Danielle ❤️

Andrina’s home hair frizz to smooth blow dry tutorial.

Hello all you lovely’s, how are you all doing?

So it is week five of the lockdown and it was extended this week another 3 weeks. We have been getting messages about appointments . And we understand that you must be literally wanting to pull your hair out or stick anything on it at this time. We sadly do not know when we will be opening our doors, but when we do from the government,  you will be the first to know about it. We are complying by the governments advice and recommendations to keep you and our staff healthy and fit. Please remember that we will advise you as much as we safely can, but sometimes that may just be as simple as wearing a cute headband or becoming creative with styling.

fanolaOur team are starting to create videos as we speak on how to style your hair, this is a great opportunity for you to practice at home, ready for when the lockdown is lifted and you can show off your new skills. So keep a eye out for this coming up. What we can recommend to all you blondes out there to keep you blondes cool is our favourite Fanola, which you may have seen in the salon. There are two different options, for yellow tones or orange tones. The Fanola orange is also great for brunettes to help prevent the warmth coming through. You can buy this on Amazon . Please message us if you would like more advice on how to use this or similar products .

We would love to introduce you now to Ade’s first video blog. How shiny is Ade’s hair! Ade has been working at the salon for 5 years now from beginning of her apprenticeship to becoming a valued stylist at the salon. Lovely to see her and hear her voice. She will give you the lowdown on what she has been up to. She cant wait to see you all soon too. We miss you Ade xxx

Up next we have a few lovely words from Sarah with a lovely picture collage that she put together, Sarah has been working at the salon since it opened its doors many years ago, so we are sure quite a few of you will recognise her and appreciate her letter to you. so you can see what she has been doing .

” Hi to all our lovely clients at the Shoreham Hair Lounge. So how have I been doing. Personally I have been struggling, ups and downs, every day is different for many reasons.

So I make myself busy as you just have to get on with it. First thing I do to make myself feel better is to get out of my dressing gown ASAP 🙂 I have been doing a lot of workouts online, . Really like the Joe Wicks work outs on Youtube, and the Tyson and Paris Fury videos on Instagram. I am lucky that I have a cross trainer at home, really appreciate this and I love skipping in the garden. I have also been going out with my family on lots of dog walks and cycling, we are lucky to live with nice out door space.

I have also been doing lots of Arts and Crafts with my son , which I really enjoy as I am dyslexic. I find the home schooling very hard. So we have been learning stuff that interests us and is as fun as possible. I have been learning about space , and have been making the most of our clear evenings to watch the stars and see what I have learnt. Liam loves shipwrecks so we have also been learning a lot about the Titanic and other ships.

I would really like to say thank you to all our lovely clients for your support and lovely messages so far. I cant wait to see you all again. And I really miss my work colleagues, we dont just work together, they are my best friends. So good bye for now and look forward to seeing you soon. Take care of yourself’s and your loved ones. Lots of love , Sarah xxx “

Next  up  we have Danielle’s first video blog. Danielle was very excited to share with you what she has been up to, we think she is looking great, and it was so lovely to see her face. Danielle has been with the salon for 10 years now,  is our Nr 1 hair extension specialist and is a local to Shoreham. Danielle is also announcing last weeks winner of our review competition.

Thank you again for watching and reading this weeks blog. We really appreciate your  support and feedback and obviously cant wait to open our doors to you soon again, next week we look forward to sharing our styling tips and some more blogs and announcing the next winner of our weekly competition.

To be in with a chance to win , we are kindly asking you, if you have some extra time now. Hello to you all, we hope you are all well and we wish to send you warm wishes for a bright, healthy and happy easter. It has now been nearly 3 weeks since we temporarily closed our doors due to the Covid19 virus, as you know we took these measures to ensure your and our staff health and safety. We hope you are taking good care of your selfs and that your families are well. We have been a bit more online on Facebook recently so we can stay connected to you, and keep you up to date on what is happening.Image

We have also been overwhelmed and so inspired by the NHS workers on the front lines of the battle against coronavirus around here and the rest of the UK .From the surgeons to the porters, the nurses to the catering staff, the physios to the midwives, and the paramedics to the GPs – these heroes battle adversity each day to help us all when we are  at our most vulnerable. So we wanted to say thank you to all our regular clients that work on the frontline for the NHS with a free wash, cut and blow dry with your regular stylist. For more information on how to claim this , click here.

Image

We are also running a weekly competition till the end of May. All you have to do is leave a review on Google or our Facebook page, or both! And as a thank you , you will be entered into a weekly prize draw , with the chance to win a wash, cut and blowdry. Winners will be announced from this and every Friday , so watch this space or check out our Facebook  page were the winner will be announced on our new video blog.

And even though the salon is not open we are still available for messaging on Facebook if you have any queries what so ever about your hair. Please do not stick random  box sets on you hair, we are happy to assist as much as we can. And also a big favour to ask of all you lovely blondes. Please do not use and sun in sprays on your hair, we know this is very tempting in these times and sun. But they damage the hair very badly and can react with the colours we use on your hair. So this can affect future services too.

So thats it for now all you lovely people, hope you have a lovely weekend and manage to get some sunshine on your face.

Lots of love, be safe, stay indoors and take care , from you Shoreham Hair Lounge team.
